Padawan’s first birthday cake
Padawan is a Linneaus’s two toed sloth (Choloepus didactylus). She was born at Living Treasures on July 25, 2017, to Finn and Rey. She has been a favorite to the keepers and park guests. When she was young, she did meet and greet encounters but has since aged out of the experience. She is more social and friendly with her keepers than sloths tend to be. She weighs 7.5 pounds.

Fun facts:
Sloths prefer to be in trees. They are clumsy on land but good swimmers.
International sloth day is October 20
Prehistoric sloths lived on the ground. There are thought to be 80 different species with the largest being 16 feet tall.
Without sloths there would be no avocados! Prehistoric sloths were responsible for eating avocados and spreading the seeds to the areas where avocados grow today.
