Living Treasures is home to one of the most diverse collections of animals in Western Pennsylvania. From black bears and African lions to playful otters and two-toed sloths, our residents represent wildlife from every continent.
And unlike a traditional zoo, you won't be watching from across a moat — many of our animals can be fed by hand, touched, and experienced up close.
Aquatic

Asian Small-Clawed Otter
The smallest otter species in the world and one of our most popular residents. Playful, social, and endlessly entertaining.
Mexican Walking Fish
A critically endangered amphibian famous for its ability to regenerate limbs. Their feathery gills and permanent smile make them an unforgettable sight.
Freshwater & Tropical Fish
Our aquarium exhibit features a colorful variety of freshwater and tropical fish species for visitors to enjoy.

American Black Bear

White Bengal Tiger
A breathtaking white Bengal tiger with piercing blue eyes. One of the rarest and most magnificent animals you'll ever see in person.
Serval
A sleek, spotted wild cat with the longest legs relative to body size of any cat. Incredible jumpers and skilled hunters.

Blue-and-Gold Macaw
Colorful parrots, majestic raptors, and friendly farm fowl — our aviaries are always buzzing.
Catalina Macaw
A hybrid macaw with a spectacular rainbow of colors. Known for being especially social and vocal with visitors.
Scarlet Macaw
Brilliant red, yellow, and blue plumage make the scarlet macaw one of the most stunning parrots in the world.
Red-Tailed Hawk
The most common hawk in North America. Their iconic screech is often used as the sound effect for bald eagles in movies.
Great Horned Owl
A powerful nocturnal hunter with distinctive ear tufts. One of the most widespread and adaptable owls in North America.
Eurasian Eagle-Owl
One of the largest owl species in the world, with a wingspan up to six feet. Their piercing orange eyes are unforgettable.
Barn Owl
With their distinctive heart-shaped face and silent flight, barn owls are one of the most recognizable raptors in the world.

Fallow Deer
Elegant deer with spotted coats and impressive palmate antlers. Friendly and approachable, they're a highlight of the feeding areas.
Barbary Sheep
Also known as the Barbary sheep, aoudads are impressive climbers native to the rocky mountains of North Africa.

Linnaeus's Two-Toed Sloth
Slow, sleepy, and absolutely lovable. Our sloths are the stars of our encounters program — book a private meet-and-greet!

Bactrian Camel
Camels, coatimundis, porcupines, and animals you might not expect to find in the Laurel Highlands.
Tulu Camel (Hybrid)
A rare hybrid between a Bactrian and Dromedary camel, combining the best traits of both species. Gentle and great with visitors.
Patagonian Mara
Part rabbit, part deer, all adorable. These large rodents from Patagonia are surprisingly fast and always entertaining.
Fennec Fox
The smallest fox in the world with the biggest ears. These tiny, energetic desert foxes are irresistibly cute.
Dromedary Camel
The single-humped camel, perfectly adapted to desert life. Visitors love feeding these gentle, curious animals by hand.
African Crested Porcupine
The largest porcupine species in the world, known for their impressive black-and-white quills that can reach over a foot long.

Nigerian Dwarf Goat
Goats, donkeys, sheep, and more. The petting area is a must-visit for kids of all ages.
Domestic Sheep
Soft, fluffy, and gentle — our sheep are always a hit in the petting area, especially with the youngest visitors.
Pony
Our ponies love treats and attention. A perennial favorite for young visitors exploring the park for the first time.
Miniature Horse
All the charm of a full-sized horse in a compact package. Kids and adults alike can't resist these friendly minis.
Miniature Mediterranean Donkey
Sweet, gentle, and absolutely adorable. These pint-sized donkeys are a visitor favorite in the petting area.
Llama
Friendly and curious with big personalities. Our llamas are always ready for a photo op — just watch out for the occasional spit!
Domestic Goat
Playful, curious, and always hungry — our goats are the stars of the petting area and a must-visit for kids of all ages.
Draft Horse
Gentle giants of the farm world. Our draft horses love attention and are always happy to greet visitors at the fence.

Bennett's Wallaby
Like a smaller, even cuter kangaroo. Our wallabies are gentle and approachable — and sometimes have joeys peeking from their pouches!

Red Kangaroo
The largest living marsupial. Watch them lounge, hop, and box — a true Australian icon right here in the Laurel Highlands.

Ring-tailed Lemur
From curious capuchins to expressive lemurs, our primate family is full of personality.
Common Squirrel Monkey
Small, curious, and incredibly social. These tiny monkeys live in large groups and are always on the move.
Spider Monkey
Named for their long, spindly limbs and prehensile tail. Incredibly agile and endlessly entertaining to watch swing through their habitat.
Patas Monkey
The fastest primate on Earth, capable of speeds over 30 mph. Sleek and athletic, they're fascinating to watch.
Common Marmoset
Tiny, energetic monkeys with distinctive ear tufts. Among the smallest primates in the world.
Lar Gibbon
Acrobatic apes that swing through trees with incredible speed and grace. Their beautiful songs echo across the park.
Howler Monkey
Known as the loudest land animal — their howls can be heard up to three miles away. Surprisingly laid-back when they're not vocalizing.
Grivet Monkey
Social and expressive Old World monkeys. Watch them interact, groom, and play in their habitat.
Black-and-White Ruffed Lemur
One of the largest lemur species, known for their loud, raucous calls and striking black-and-white fur pattern.

Western Hognose Snake
Famous for their dramatic "playing dead" defense. Small, harmless, and full of personality. One of our by-chance animals — visits with keeper supervision.
African Spurred Tortoise
The third-largest tortoise species in the world and the largest on the African mainland. Can live over 100 years.
Red-Footed Tortoise
A colorful, medium-sized tortoise with distinctive red and orange markings on their legs and head.
Red-Tailed Boa Constrictor
A powerful, beautifully patterned constrictor. Calm and impressive, they're a favorite during keeper talks.
Poison Dart Frog
Tiny, jewel-like frogs in brilliant blues, reds, and yellows. Their vivid colors warn predators to stay away.
Mountain Horned Dragon
A prehistoric-looking lizard with spiny crests and excellent camouflage. Find them in our Rainforest Room.
Leopard Tortoise
Named for their beautiful spotted shell pattern. One of the largest tortoise species in Africa.
Madagascar Giant Day Gecko
Bright green with red spots, these bold, active geckos are a vibrant addition to our Rainforest Room.
Emerald Tree Boa
A stunning bright green boa that spends most of its life coiled on branches. One of the most beautiful snakes you'll ever see.
Cuban Knight Anole
The largest anole species, these bright green lizards are bold and territorial — and always fun to watch.
