Living Treasures Animal Park

Our Story

From a family's backyard passion to the Laurel Highlands' favorite animal park.

Living Treasures started the way the best things do — with a family that couldn't stop collecting animals. What began as a private menagerie grew into something the whole community wanted to see, and before long, a wild animal park was born in the rolling hills of Western Pennsylvania.

Over the decades, we've grown from a handful of exhibits into a home for over 300 animals representing 50 different species. We've added the Rainforest Room, launched our popular sloth and otter encounters, and built the Log Cabin Lodge so families can make a whole weekend out of their visit.

Through it all, one thing hasn't changed: this is still a family operation. The same passion that started the park still drives it. You'll see it in the way our keepers talk about the animals, in the way we design every exhibit, and in the smiles on the faces of kids who are feeding a deer for the very first time.

Today, Living Treasures operates two locations — here in the Laurel Highlands and our Moraine location near Pittsburgh — and welcomes tens of thousands of visitors each season. We're proud of where we've been, and we're just getting started.
